        INVISALIGN

Clear aligners are nearly invisible trays that are used to straighten your teeth without any brackets or wires. They offer a comfortable, fast way to straighten your smile. Plus, they’re fully removable!

        METAL BRACES

Traditional metal braces use brackets and wires to straighten your teeth and improve your bite. They’re glued to your teeth, so they’re always working, even with your busy schedule.

        CLEAR BRACES

Clear braces are an excellent esthetic option for straightening your teeth if you don’t want to keep up with clear aligners. We are proud to use 3M Clarity brackets that are made from ceramic.

        RETAINERS

Use retainers after your orthodontic treatment to keep your smile straight for life. Whether you need a new retainer or a simple repair, we’re happy to help.

        EARLY INTERVENTION FOR CHILDREN

It’s never too early for a beautiful smile

Addressing orthodontic issues in kids is a key step toward a lifetime of healthy, happy teeth. As a trusted children’s orthodontist, we’re proud to offer early interventions for the youngest members of the family.

Also known as Phase I, our early orthodontic treatment for kids can make a huge difference in the health and appearance of your child’s teeth and jaw. Let us help your child achieve a healthy, happy smile that will last a lifetime!

What should i Look For? When Should it be treated? Why should it be corrected?
        Crowding
If the baby teeth have no spaces between them (for a 7-year-old), then there won’t be room for adult teeth. If your front teeth are crooked, or are in the wrong place.
See an orthodontist by age 7; treatment may begin when the child has their first permanent molars.
        • Many patients prefer the look of a straight smile.
        • It’s harder to floss and brush teeth that are squeezed tightly together.
        • If treatment is delayed, then it may be necessary to extract teeth to achieve the same results in the future.
        • Crowded teeth are often subject to uneven wear and may lead to TMJ issues.
        Underbite
If your lower teeth fit outside of the upper teeth when the jaw is closed.
See an orthodontist by age 7; treatment may begin when the child has their first permanent molars. Early treatment is vital.
        • Uncorrected underbites are the most common type of bite associated with jaw joint problems.
        • Left untreated, the underbite may become worse.
        • May improve the facial profile.
        • Underbites may lead to uneven wear on teeth.
        Crossbite
If your upper back teeth bite on the inside of lower back teeth.
See an orthodontist by age 7; treatment may begin when the child has their first permanent molars. Early treatment is vital.
        • Uncorrected crossbites may lead to uneven growth of the jaws.
        • You may avoid potential jaw joint problems.

        Say Goobye To

        MISALIGNED TEETH

Misaligned teeth happen when the teeth don’t line up properly, leading to crooked or irregularly spaced teeth. Besides affecting your appearance, it can also lead to oral health issues such as cavities, gum disease, and increased wear on teeth.

        OVERCROWDING

Overcrowding happens when there’s not enough space in your mouth for all of your teeth. This can lead to a tangled, overlapping, or twisted appearance, making it hard to brush and floss effectively.

        OVERBITES

An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap significantly with the lower front teeth. This condition can cause the lower teeth to bite into the roof of the mouth, causing pain, gum issues, and wear on the lower teeth.

        UNDERBITES

An underbite occurs when the lower front teeth sit in front of the upper front teeth when the mouth is closed. This can lead to difficulty chewing, speaking issues, and tension in the jaw joints.

        CROSSBITES

Crossbites occur when the upper and lower jaws are misaligned, causing one or more upper teeth to bite on the inside of the lower teeth. This can lead to wear, gum recession, and an increased risk of gum disease.

        OPEN BITES

An open bite happens when the upper and lower front teeth don’t touch when the mouth is closed. This can make it hard to bite and chew properly, lead to speech difficulties, and cause strain on the jaw joints.

        Other Issues

Our comprehensive approach to orthodontic care allows us to provide advanced treatments for many problems – including jaw pain, gaps between teeth, and aesthetic alignment. We can help you correct any orthodontic problem!

What orthodontic problems can you treat at Dr. Khullar’s Dental Clinic?

We treat a wide range of orthodontic issues including crowded teeth, gaps, overbites, underbites, crossbites, and jaw alignment problems. Our goal is to create a balanced and confident smile for every patient.

How long does orthodontic treatment usually take?

The duration varies depending on the complexity of the case. On average, treatment may last anywhere between 12 to 24 months. Regular check-ups help ensure timely progress.

        Can adults get orthodontic treatment?

Absolutely! Orthodontic treatment is not limited to children or teens. Many adults successfully undergo braces or clear aligner treatments for improved alignment and aesthetics.

What age is best for orthodontic treatment?

The ideal age to begin orthodontic evaluation is around 7 years, but treatment can start at any age once dental and bone development are suitable.

What types of braces are available at Dr. Khullar’s Dental Clinic?

We offer a range of modern options including metal braces, ceramic braces, self-ligating braces, and clear aligners for discreet treatment.

        Will orthodontic treatment be painful?

There may be mild discomfort or soreness when braces are adjusted or aligners are changed, but this usually subsides within a few days. We ensure your experience remains as comfortable as possible.

How often do I need to visit for orthodontic treatment?

Follow-up visits are usually scheduled every 4 to 6 weeks to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments.

What is the cost of treatment?

The cost depends on the treatment type and complexity. During your consultation, we provide a detailed estimate and discuss flexible payment options.

Do you have invisible treatment options?

Yes! We offer clear aligners and ceramic braces that provide effective results while keeping your treatment nearly invisible.

        INFORMATION AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS

        CLEAR ALIGNERS

        • Aligners must be worn 22 hours a day to achieve a successful result; remove them only to eat and to brush.
        • Each pack of Aligner is numbered and should be worn in sequence. If you lose an aligner, please call us for instructions specific to your case. We will most likely tell you to move on to the next tray.
        • Be sure to store your aligners in their case when you are not wearing them. Do not put them in a napkin and keep them away from pets!
        • Clean aligners by carefully brushing them with the toothpaste left on your toothbrush after brushing your teeth. You can also clean them with warm (not hot) water and dish soap.
        • You can drink with your aligner in. We just ask if it is a sugary or colored drink, you swish with water afterwards.
        • If you find there is a rough spot on your aligners where you have been taking them in and out, you can use a small nail file to file down that area. It will not damage the integrity of the tray!
        • Floss and brush your teeth as you normally would, morning and night!

        BRACES

        • When you get your braces on, you may feel general soreness in your mouth, and your teeth may be tender to biting pressures. The lips, cheeks, and tongue may also become irritated for one to two weeks as they get accustomed to the surface of the braces. You can put wax on the braces to lessen this!
        • Avoid hard and crunchy foods such as hard candies, popcorn, hard chips, and hard nuts. Fruits and vegetables should be cut into smaller, more manageable bites before eating!
        • It’s more important than ever to brush and floss regularly when you have braces! Flossing is a critical step in your dental hygiene routine to remove any food particles and bacteria from the nooks and crannies. Use either a floss threader or a water flosser (found on Amazon) to floss with braces.
        • If you have a broken bracket, loose or poking wire, or something else that is causing discomfort, please call our office. You can use wax over the problem area until we are able to get you in to fix the issue.
        • If you play sports, we recommend a braces mouthguard to be worn in case of any accident involving the face.

        REMOVABLE APPLIANCES

        • Removable appliances must be worn as instructed by your orthodontist – typically 20 to 22 hours a day, unless otherwise advised.
        • Remove your appliance while eating, brushing, and during sports to prevent damage.
        • Always store the appliance in its protective case when not in use. Avoid wrapping it in napkins or tissues to prevent accidental loss or damage.
        • Clean your appliance daily using a soft toothbrush and mild soap or denture cleaner. Avoid using hot water, as it may warp the material.
        • Speak and read out loud while wearing your appliance during the first few days to get accustomed to it.
        • If any wire or part becomes loose or causes irritation, call our office before attempting to adjust it yourself.

        RETAINERS

        • Retainers help maintain your teeth in their new positions after braces or aligners are removed – wearing them as instructed is essential to prevent relapse.
        • Wear your retainer full-time unless your orthodontist has advised nighttime wear only.
        • Remove your retainer while eating and brushing. Keep it safe in its case when not in use.
        • Clean your retainer daily with a toothbrush and cool water. Avoid toothpaste with abrasives, which can scratch it.
        • Never expose your retainer to heat (hot water, sunlight, or inside cars) as it can distort its shape.
        • If your retainer feels tight, this may indicate that teeth are shifting – wear it more consistently and contact our office if discomfort persists.

        EXPANDERS

        • Expanders are used to widen the upper jaw, creating space and improving bite alignment.
        • Turn the expander screw as directed by your orthodontist, using the key provided. Keep track of the number of turns completed.
        • You may feel slight pressure or tightness after each turn – this is normal and should subside within a few minutes.
        • Avoid sticky or hard foods that may damage the appliance.
        • Clean the expander thoroughly by brushing around it and rinsing with water or a fluoride mouthwash after meals.
        • If the expander becomes loose or uncomfortable, stop turning it and contact our office immediately.

        ELASTICS (RUBBER BANDS)

        • Elastics help correct your bite and align your teeth properly – consistent wear is crucial for achieving results.
        • Always wear your elastics as instructed, usually 22 hours a day, removing them only while eating and brushing.
        • Replace your elastics daily to maintain proper tension and cleanliness.
        • Keep extra elastics with you at all times in case one breaks or gets lost.
        • Never double up on elastics unless specifically advised – this can cause unwanted tooth movement or pain.
        • If you experience severe soreness or notice an elastic breaking frequently, contact our office for guidance.

EXTRA ORAL APPLIANCES (HEADGEAR & FACEMASK)

        • Extra oral appliances help guide jaw growth and tooth movement by applying gentle external forces.
        • Wear your headgear or facemask exactly as instructed – typically 12 to 14 hours per day, including while sleeping.
        • Always remove your appliance while eating, brushing, or playing sports.
        • Handle it carefully and store it in a clean, dry area when not in use.
        • You may feel slight discomfort or pressure during the first few days – this is normal and will reduce as you adjust.
        • Never modify or tighten the straps yourself. If you experience pain, soreness, or a broken part, stop using the appliance and contact our office immediately.
